Excretory organs, also called emunctories, are body parts (tissues or organs) which allow toxic waste to exit the body.

The body’s primary emunctories or elimination organs are:

• Lungs
• Kidney
• Bladder
• Intestines (the small intestine and the colon)
• Skin

These organs are able to discharge toxins outside the body. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the kidneys have control over all the primary excretory organs. Solid waste is eliminated through the intestines, liquid through the bladder, gasses through the lungs and sweat through the skin.

While not an elimination organ “per se”, the Liver is one of the most important organs in the body when it comes to processing and metabolizing of foreign substances or toxins. The liver detoxifies harmful substances by a complex series of chemical reactions, but mainly by converting fat soluble toxins into water soluble substances that can be excreted in the urine or the bile. The liver filters the blood to remove large toxins and it acts on a broad spectrum of micro-organisms such as bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites by neutralizing their effects on or removing them from the blood.

It is of great importance to always start a healing therapy with ensuring that all the emunctories are able to discharge toxins to the outside of the body.

At Wind of Change Nutrition, we use UNDA numbers as our Bio-therapeutic drainageTM remedies, based on the works of Dr. Antoine Nebel in Switzerland during the 1920’s and 1930’s and Dr. George Discri in France during the 1940’s and 1950’s. The remedies are still being produced in Belgium, where the first lab was founded in 1946, and is now a state-of-the-art facility.

UNDA numbers are carefully constructed combinations of botanical remedies (plants) and metals (minerals), which are formulated using principles of herbal medicine, metal knowledge from the old alchemists, classical Chinese Medicine and homeopathy. They are unique combinations which have been proven effective for both acute ailments and for chronic, degenerative conditions.

UNDA numbers are prescribed according to an assessment of organ systems as opposed to an evaluation of signs and symptoms.

When addressing acute illnesses, the UNDA numbers have a detoxifying effect by stimulating the elimination organs and the removal of toxic waste from the body. In chronic conditions, the UNDA numbers work on the “terrain” of the person, addressing the original cause of disease, and by bringing balance to the particular body system that the problem is stemming from.

For enhanced results, we combine the use of UNDA numbers with that of Gemmotherapy (botanical macerates), Phytotherapy (plant bud macerates), Oligotherapy (small concentrations of minerals), Tissue (Cell) Salts (inorganic minerals) and Flower Essences.

UNDA numbers remedies are easy to take as they come in liquid form. They are safe for people undergoing other treatments, for children and pregnant or nursing women. The normal adult dose consists of 5 drops, 3 times a day.
